I believe there are few things more charming than a small bookstore filled with enchanting tails and stories that invite you into a new world. While I appreciate our major chain bookstores in the Philippines, I was beyond tickled to find comfort in a recent visit to our own small bookstore, Adarna House.

store from afar.jpg

Pilipino Library has featured many Adarna House books so when I found out they had a brick and mortar store I knew a field trip was in order. So many Adarna House titles had been gifted to me or picked up at markets that when I visited a physical location I revilied in having so many titles in one place. Plus, the store itself is so inviting with multiple spaces for reading, donation drop off, books neatly organized to flip through and sweet details strung about.

Adarna House has a very large selection of books for babies all the way to adults. They carry fiction and non-fiction, educational materials, cultural folk tales and so much more! Don't forgot to ask for the posters, they are only 35 php lang!

Papa's House, Mama's House

I was impressed that adarna house doesn't shy away from hard life topics such as split families and living with separate homes as this title shows. Some other topics were poverty, bullying and adoption.

25 Books later...I would consider today a success! Adarna's books are all very very fairly priced. They even ship for free in the Metro!

Well, Manila, you charmed my pants off again and I will never stop loving you. Thank you Adarna House for continue to make great literature that has helped me embrace a happy life in Manila. I am better because I have read your books.
