Only In The Philippines: Feed A T-Rex At Dinosaurs Island, Clark Pampanga

LIBERATION! Dinosaur’s Island is the first real adventure I have been on outside of the city since I broke my foot in November and I came alive again. Because the Philippines is so densely populated, has so many islands and different ethnic groups, it is such a diverse place! You needn’t travel far or look too hard to find such cool offerings, for example: FEED A T-REX!

Insectlandia|

I didn’t know Insectlandia existed until I arrived at Dinosaurs Island and to be honest, it didn’t enhance the experience. My kids liked it a lot which is important but I don’t think you’re missing out if you skip Insectlandia, especially because I felt it’s a bit overpriced. But again, my kids really enjoyed it so take the experience as you will.

AHHHHHH! Run Mom! Bugs!

Bugs are everywhere! And they’re huge! And it’s impressive just not as well done as the dinosaurs are at Dinosaurs Island.

The Bugs Life Show at the end of your Insectlandia visit is quite the treat. It is a great primer for Filipino culture and entertainment. Singing and dancing is a huge part of Pinoy culture and this is a perfect window into that cultural practice.

Dinosaurs Island|

Dinosaurs Island has been on my radar for more than five years but I never made the time to go because our road trips usually took us South. A friend recently relocated to Clark and this was our ticket to visit Dinosaurs Island and it we had an incredibly good time. The dinosaurs were more well presented than I had imagined, the park was clean and we visited on a low attendance day which is always my favorite. If you are asking yourself if it is worth it, I say yes! (pssst especially since there is a Metro Deal voucher at the moment.)

All around the park are details that enhance the experience. I loved the effect of the dinosaur bones, broken down jungle walls and so much more!

Feed A T-Rex!

Dinosaurs Island is probably the only place in time and space in which one can feed a T-Rex and for 20 pesos at that! There is a small view deck with a landing where you can stand and feed an animatronic T-Rex a large drumstick. This was for sure the highlight of our trip. This was the only ‘extra’ that we paid for. There were a number of other attractions at Dinosaurs Island but we didn’t visit any others as I felt we had spent enough between Insectlandia and Dinosaurs Island.

Feed a life size T-Rex at Dinosaurs Island. The T-Rex really is to scale for the size of a T-Rex!

again, don’t worry, the high voltage sign isn’t real :)

SPOILERS|

At the end of your visit to Dinosaurs Island there is a ‘show’ and I highly recommend participating in it. If you have children who are sensitive to loud noises and frighten easily I would recommend skipping the show portion. If you are looking for some unique entertainment in the Philippines, this is your place!

(you can watch a preview of the show at the very end of the video)

There is no where in the world, or time, that is quite as unique as the Philippines and Dinosaurs Island is a perfect example of this good clean fun. If you have a dinosaur lover at home or just want to experience what Jurassic Park might feel like in person give Dinosaurs Island a visit. Remember, #itsmorefuninthephilipppines.
