Kita Kita Manila: 5 Days Of Cloud Watching

Magandang Umaga Po!

As we find ourselves house locked during this fragile COVID19 time I want to share some activities to still help you love where you live. I started a project called, Kita Kita Manila, a year ago in hopes that it would be turned into a book. Unfortunately, that never happened but it wasn’t for lack of trying. I wanted to give Manila an offering for all the love she has shown me and what better way than for us to reflect on her beauty and our relationship with her.

During the next few weeks every Monday I will share a Kita Kita Manila printable to help you find beauty, or something note worthy, each day for that week.

The activity worksheets and practices can be for any age group. All you have to do is save and print the image. I’ll share more about each weekly activity and even how I created them. I look forward to growing with you. I hope these activities bring a shimmer of hope and peace during these times. As always, whatever we look for we will find - may we look for the good.

Kita Kita,

Amber

One of the reasons I love Manila is because it makes me feel so small. It's a funny thought to realize I am a part of an experience in this exact moment that includes 12 million other people at the same time. It helps me remember I am not alone and that I am part of a much larger picture than just myself. Another way that reminds me we are all connected is by looking up. It sounds simple but I am serious, when I look up and see those massive white marshmallows floating in the sky, I know I am not alone. Also, nothing tickles my fancy more than to look up and see banderitas free flowing in the wind while clouds hurry by.

When you look up you may see houses, buildings and restaurants as opposed to mountains. One huge source of nature however, is always floating over our heads. The sky has been a source of inspiration for many and isn't limited, it is there for everyone! All we have to do is pause and appreciate the ever constant hug of warm sunshine, clouds and stars that greet us. Find a window to the outside and challenge yourself to slow down and feel the sun on your face. Close your eyes! Give it a go.

Dietitians have found that 30 minutes in the sun can have massive positive effects for our health. I do it daily, not always 30 minutes, and I call it my light therapy. :) While you are soaking up your sun rays take some time to notice the clouds above you.
