Merkado Play Set

Things that make my heart happy:

Bright colors, Philippine handicrafts, Wet and Dry Markets, Women Supporting Women, Thoughtful Children’s Play Toys, Learning About New Cultures.

Today’s post is a treat. I hope it brings you as much joy as it did me.

MerKado Play Set|

I was thrilled to receive this cheery yellow bayong and Merkado Play Set from The Ten Twenty Kids, it checks all the boxes. Ten/Twenty Kids is a social enterprise that creates sustainable toys that celebrates the creativity of kids and the craftsmanship of Filipinos while providing jobs for stay-at-home moms.

The quality of the fabrics and design is top notch quality. I am amazed how thoughtful every detail of not only the play set but the overall model of the business plan of Ten Twenty Kids. This really was a package full of love and light.

MERKADO encourages the childhood "tinda-tindahan” experience to inspire imaginative play.”

I have a thing for the fish. The simplicity of the design and start black and white contrast have me all kilig over them.

Even the website is so well done. The initiative of Ten Twenty Kids is clear. You can learn more about the bundles and how to be a ‘backer’ to help sustain the livelihood project.

“Our story began with piles of textile excess and the realization that without intervention, the cycle of waste will just continue.

On April 2019, Ten/Twenty Kids was born, with the mission to create, educate and advocate.

We live out our purpose by producing quality toys from up-cycled materials, educating kids on sustainability through arts, crafts, and fashion design workshops and fostering creativity through play. “

Lovely readers, it’s days like this I feel so fortunate that brave individuals share their goods with me and I can in turn share with you. I remember buying cheap plastic food toys from a mega chain, now we have an option that’s sustainable (fish and sack bags made from recycled materials) and created by empowered nanays. It doesn’t get better in my book. Major Pinoy pride over here for The Ten Twenty Kids.  If their initiative resonates with you, please go to their site and back their livelihood project.
